Haiti trip was a success!!!

We made it back safe and sound with a whole sling of unforgettable memories. YouthMerch and Got Your Back Movement spent the past week in Quanaminthe, Haiti to deliver over 500 school uniforms to an orphanage called Danita's Children. Our journey started out with us walking through the Dominican Republic market to get through the border into Haiti. What would normally take like 15 min to walk across took us about 2-3 hours! The market is open once a week so people come from all over the country to stock up, and it is utter chaos to say the least. It was seriously pick pocket central and we no doubt stuck out like a sore thumb. Anyway, we made it through the border and into the orphanage where we were greeted by all the kids and staff. This place was so orderly and just peaceful in the midst of chaos right outside the walls. You could tell that this place was just a miracle and that God had his hands covering these people. We spent the next few days capturing footage and delivering all the school uniforms into each classroom. The kids were so happy and proud to be wearing a brand new uniform! This trip was more than a success. We learned so much from these kids and staff and will forever be changed. We look forward to our return there and will continue to provide clothing relief/school uniforms to Danita's Children. Thanks again to everyone who helped make this trip possible. Winter Jam booth!!!

Winter Jam 2010 made it's way through Nashville last week and we got to see all of our new Merchandise lines first hand. Our custom band shirts and promotional products for the Newsboys looked amazing on display. You've never seen a merch display until you've seen the Newsboys. They use flat screen TV's, 20 ft trusses, and massive banners. It may seem like over kill, but it draws customers over to the table and displays our custom band t-shirts perfectly. (Check out the pic below of one of the booths) The show was filled with great music, high energy, and an inspirational message. Custom Applique shirts look amazing!

A special thanks to all the new fraternities and sororities who have partnered up with YouthMerch in 2010!! Fraternity shirts and Sorority shirts are in full production this month and we just wanted to remind everyone out there about our Applique printing method. This method has become very popular and gives more depth to a design rather than just a basic screen print. A popular combination for this, is doing a tone on tone screen print with the applique embroidery over the top. Appliqué is pretty much just a shape cut from a piece of fabric and stitched to another, to create and add dimension and texture to a design. If you have ever been in an Abercrombie and Fitch store or an Aeropostle store, than you have more than likely seen an Applique embroidered shirt. We just got a sample in of our most recent custom fraternity shirts, where we used this Applique method (see pic attachment). This type of embroidery has a few different options such as using vinyl or cloth/twill. Funny the difference that can be made in just one simple conversation.

I was walking with a friend tonight here in Paris to go get crepes and we ended up by the Eiffel Tower. We stood across the street ordering over prices crepes overwhelmed by the view. It's funny how many people travel across the world to see the spectacle that was at first argued to be solely an eye sore to the Parissiens. But with the proper marketing it is now viewed as the center for romance world wide. THE WHOLE WORLD comes to see it and count their lives as enriched by the experience. All this for a radio tower that was once close to being torn down before it got an image makeover.

Imagine with me for a minute that we could capture together the imagination and inspiration of our peers to unite around a cause that could truly help others. Not just charity work; but using a process we would still use otherwise to bring a greater good to those around us.

As I sit here sitting in the lounge waiting to take YouthMerch on it's first international debut, I have realized a few things about this Nashville Screen Printer.

First: In a world full of a vast array of gimmicks and scams its hard to convince people you are REALLY just trying to do something good.
